RANDY WRIGHT
Randy Wright is the director of instrumental music. Under his leadership for the last fifteen years, the C.G.C.C. Jazz band has been an East Valley jazz institution performing at music festivals, park series, concerts, and a Phoenix Suns basketball game. In the Spring of 2001 he started a Wednesday evening community concert band and a daytime jazz combo. Randy earned his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Performance degrees from Northern Arizona University. He taught band, jazz, and general music with Mesa Unified Schools for 27 years. Randy was one of the founding members of Mesa Professional Educators, has a private instruction studio, and is an active instrumental music adjudicator and clinician throughout Arizona. He has been the tuba player with the Mesa Symphony Orchestra and brass quintet since 1973, and also plays freelance bass.
