Photography -- I have been photographing weddings since about 1972 and do an average of one or two a month. I really enjoy it! I used to take all of the yearbook sports pictures for all of Chandler secondary schools and Chandler Youth Baseball, San Tan Soccer, Pop Warner Football, but it got to be too much and so I'm just doing weddings and an occasional family group or class reunion now.
National Park Ranger -- I was a seasonal law enforcement Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park (California) in the summers of 1968 and 1969, then an interpreter giving cave tours, hikes, and campfire programs at Wind Cave National Park (South Dakota). I was the seasonal administrator for two summers at Wind Cave, and my last two years there, 1986 and 1987, I was a fire fighter and manned the fire lookout tower on the regular fire spotter's days off.
Forest Ranger -- during the summer of 1967, I was a Forest Ranger at Los Padres National Forest on the coast of California. Maintenance was my main activity in addition to cleaning the toilets, hauling garbage, and collecting campground fees every day.
Dormitory worker -- during college, I washed dishes for $.75 per hour my freshman year, was a student cook my sophomore year, floor courcelor my junior year, and study supervisor and assistant in the dorm my senior year.
School bus driver -- during my junior and senior years of high school, I drove a regular school bus route and many of the band trips (I played the trumpet). Virginia let qualified students drive school busses at age 16!
Other jobs -- summer camp maintenance man, boat gas station attendant, newspaper route, school crossing guard, painted houses and barns.
