Computers: I started using computers in 1980 (Commodore PET) and have used Commodore 64, Apple IIe, Macintosh (many models), and PCs. I like searching the Web for information and great buys (yea, eBay!), but don't like computer games at all.
Photography: I have operated a photography business out of my home for over 30 years and mainly do weddings now, but have done a lot of school and sport photography too. Motorcycles: I started riding motorcycles in 1974 and have ridden ever since. Most of my cycles have been cruisers, but I have had a few dirt/street bikes too. My present ride is a Yamaha V-Star 1100, but I have owned many Hondas, a few Kawasakis, and even a Harley. Boating/water skiing: My family bought a 16' Crestliner with a 40 hp Johnson in 1957 and I loved to water ski where we lived in Washington state and Virginia. My uncle gave me a little 3 hp Johnson outboard so I bought a little boat in which to go fishing and when I was in high school, I built a 4 X 8 foot hydroplane, but it didn't go very fast with a 3 horsepower engine! I bought a 17' FourWinns inboard/outboard and loved to take my two boys boating and skiing when they were in junior high and high school. I've also owned canoes and love kayaking as well -- it is so peaceful silently gliding across the water! Physical science: Even before teaching physical science, it was always my favorite subject in school. I never really got into biology, but chemistry, physics, geology, meteorology, and astronomy are still favorites! |
